Although mandated on deck surfaces above 30" in height, railings have become welcome and dramatic accents for both cedar and composite decks.  There are almost unlimited railing possibilities with the material choices that are available today.  Whether it is glass panels, composite balusters, aluminum finials, or eye-catching cedar post caps, railing components can be an exciting element of your deck’s design.
 
Of course there are settings in which you would want the railing to “disappear,” in order to maximize your view. We build many glass paneled railings for just this reason.
